Can you write a nice cup of tea? Brighton flash fiction competition

tea

Crossing The Teas is a Brighton based Oral History and Photographic Exhibition exploring different cultural practices around the shared custom of drinking tea. The project is a chance for local community groups from diverse cultural backgrounds to share and learn about the tea drinking customs, histories, traditions and stories of their own and each other’s cultures.

Crossing The Teas, in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund and Brighton & Hove City Libraries, are looking for the best story about tea that can be written in 750 words. They don’t mind if it’s a true story, an imagined story, a weird one, a scary one, a romantic one, as long as the central theme is tea and it is no longer than 750 words

DEADLINE: 1st June 2015

The free competition is open to all ages. There are two categories – under 18, and 18 and over. Make sure that your entry is marked with the correct category.

The prize includes the winner and runner up stories becoming part of the Crossing The Teas Exhibition at Brighton Library 22nd June – 16th July 2015 and having the stories available on the Crossing The Teas webpage.

  • Please note that further prizes may be Brighton based. These prizes cannot be substituted and there is no monetary equivalent for any prize.
