BRIDGET WHELAN writer

for writers and readers….

Editing your NaNoWriMo novel THREE BITE SIZE GUIDES TO EDITING AND REVISING THE FIRST DRAFT part 1

Despite my own less than fantastic word count in this year’s NaNoWriMo, Viki over at The View Outside has asked me to write about editing your NaNoWriMo novel. (Actually the advice applies to any novel – doesn’t have to be written in a white hot fever in the month of November.) I was so carried away with the idea I wrote enough for four posts and then cut it down to three…the irony is not lost on me.

Part One is on The View Outside right now. Please visit. Would Love to hear what you think. Part Two will appear on Viki’s  blog tomorrow. Part Three will appear here on Monday December 3rd.

To give you a taster today I will be writing about that

mean-spirited companion…(who won’t) offer any rewards for sticking with it, reaching goals and staying up late.

And blood on the floor…

It took me another go at NaNoWriMo last year to finally convince me I am not a novelist! More journalism, poetry and memoir moi! But I read ‘The View Outside’ both you and Vikki are really generous professional writers, who are brilliant at sharing stuff that any writer would benefit from. Hope you get loads of followers X

Thank you for saying so many nice things about our blogs. I know you’re a poet and I was really impressed with the extract from your memoir that I read recently….what was it about last year’s NaNoWriMo experience that made you feel the novel wasn’t for you? Maybe it was the wrong story…?

Awwww, thank you so much Ann 🙂

I’m a big believer in helping other writers, there is so much we can learn from each other 🙂
