If you find that you start a number of stories or pieces that you don’t ever bother finishing…it may be that there is nothing at their center about which you care passionately. You need to put yourself at their center, you and what you believe to be true or right.photo credit: JLM Photography. via photopin cc

If you want to use any of this material contact me and there is a very good chance I will say YES.
However, if you just cut and paste into your own blog or whatever and pass it off as your own then there's a very good chance I will find out. Don't fall into the trap of thinking the internet is so vast and expanding so fast (note the fancy internal rhyme)] that no one will know.
So true. Passion is the fuel that drives the writer:)
Yeah, there’s no substitute. However, a writer also needs tenacity and sometimes it is hard to know when to give up on an idea or when to keep on keeping on.
I absolutely agree, Bridget. I find it is hard to ‘abandon’ even when I know something is not working. Another problem is when there are so many ideas for stories, novels – a decision has to be made which one to commit to. I currently have three ‘projects’ and this helps when I reach a tricky stage – I shift to another project if I feel bleak/stuck etc on a work-in-progress. I’ve learned to ‘allow’ myself flexibility.
I’ve heard of other writers doing that – must experiment with it one day. But I seem to need to stay focused on one thing or I – literally – lose the plot…
