Prestigious International Creative Writing Competition

The Aesthetica Creative Writing Competition 2013 is now open.  There are two categories for entry – Poetry and Short Fiction – maximum word lenght.

Prizes

  • £500 prize money – Poetry winner

  • £500 prize money – Short Fiction winner

  • Publication in the Aesthetica Creative Writing Annual

  • Complimentary copy of the Aesthetica Creative Writing Annual

  • A selection of books

The entry fee is is a substantial £10, but for that you can enter two works into any one category. However, I’ve just noticed that if you live in the UK you have to pay an additional £2 to cover VAT.
I’ve never come across Value Added Tax on competition entries before. Is this a new thing? Anyone know?
The other unusual element which I do like is that you can send in work that has previously been published elsewhere. For full details click here. And remember, follow the rules to the letter.

Deadline: 31 August 2013
