Safari Friday searching the web for writers and readers — script writing

blue eyeSafari = Swahili for long journey.I am on the look out for anything accessible from a keyboard that educates, entertains, intrigues, raises a smile. Anything that helps a reader get through the day or a writer the next draft. Let me know if you write a website that you’d like featured or discover something that really should be shared.

I subscribe to PHILIP SHELLEY’s weekly script consultant newsletter and it is always full of useful information about writing for television. Philip has worked for many TV companies and was producer and Head of Development at Carlton TV Drama, working as script editor on the last two INSPECTOR MORSE films. He has a lot more TV credits to his name (including WAKING THE DEAD which I loved.)

He runs the Channel 4 screenwriting course, an initiative to identify and work with 12 writers new to television and to introduce them to Channel 4 drama and is currently developing other project. So, his website is a good place to find out about opportunities for emerging writers and what training is available.
