Joel Friedlander’s popular blog The Book Designer guides thousand of authors through the publishing process. I’ve been following it for awhile – it’s a very good read – and submitted the cover of Back to Creative Writing School to The Book Designer’s November 2013 ebook cover awards.

Over a 100 book covers were submitted to the American website. This was what Joel Friedlander had to say about Simon Avery’s design.

“This cover really uses the ebook cover format to its advantage, and takes a fresh look that will appeal to browsers.”

So we got a gold star! Or rather Simon did – but I was the one who had the good sense to ask him to dream up a design…
