Strictly Come Writing — sneak preview

I have been working with writers at Portslade Adult Education to produce an anthology of stories and dreams, poems and works in progress and it’s getting very exciting as the completed manuscript has gone for a final proof reading. When everything is done and dusted, cover and commas sorted, it will be sold in aid of Martlets Hospice in Hove.

There’s  blood in these pages(in fact the class divided into two and both groups worked on the same murder with same cast of characters but with very different results) and memories of growing up in Southern France and Southern Ireland. Some poems tell a story while others capture a moment or complain about how difficult poetry is…There are stories that go under the skin of quiet, everyday sorrows and LOL twists in the tale. There is also one called are Rabbits Ever Frigid?

At the end of each chapter there is a Where Did That Come From…? section where we explain the source of each story. Some sprouted fully-formed from a class exercise. Some were inspired by a chance remark, some just happened…

Strictly Come Writing won’t be on sale for awhile, but right now I would love you to visit our website (also a work in progress) and see the results of a recent photo shoot. Even better if you can leave a comment. As you can see it was all very serious and high-minded.
