BRIDGET WHELAN writer

for writers and readers….

If you want to write for radio this one day course is unmissable AND affordable

The Business of Writing for Radio is a one-day practical workshop in Brighton run by TV and Radio writer Sue Teddern (soloparentpals.com, In Mates, Managing Izzy, The Charm Factory). I know Sue and I can’t speak too highly of her professionalism and her ability to get to the heart of the subject.

The radio workshop will cover:

  • What makes great radio

  • What radio commissioners want and don’t want

  • Is your idea right for radio?

  • If not, how to make it right

  • How to tell your story through sound

  • Script formats, stage directions and sound effects

  • The best slots for writers new to radio

  • How a play is recorded

  • How to submit your script

Sue says: “You may already have an idea for a radio drama or comedy. You may have written a novel, a play for theatre or some comedy sketches that you now think would work better on radio. Or you may have submitted a script to the BBC and wondered why it never got to the next stage. If so, our skribitaradio workshop is just the kick-start you need.”

When: Saturday July 12, 2014, 10.30 to 4.30

Where:   Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton BN1 1YD (that’s about a minute from Brighton station if you’re strolling)

Cost: £38 (£33 to members of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain and West Sussex Writers) And if you don’t think that’s excellent value you haven’t been to all day workshops before…. find out more at Skiribita
