An inspirational workshop for apprentice performance poets

If you’ve always wanted to write and perform your own poetry there’s a chance to attend a masterclass next Saturday afternoon  October 25th 2014 with Dean Atta . Rhyme and Inspiration: Performance Poetry starts at 3pm at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. In the two-hour workshop you will learn how to craft your own piece of spoken word, find your voice and perform your lyrics. Suitable for all ages – the admission £15.

Here’s an example of Dean’s inspirational work. I just had to share it because I think it’s a powerful and very persuasive reason to sign up. That kind of writing and that kind of performance can set your own work on fire.

Afterwards be inspired and entertained with an evening of performance poetry featuring Dean and local poets. Admission £3 and Urban Ground, Towner’s café, will remain open throughout. This event is organised by East Sussex Library and Information Service to celebrate Black History Month.
