French writer Agnes Martin-Lugand self-published her first novel in December 2013. People started reading it. And then more people and pretty soon it was at the top of the French kindle charts, outselling Fifty Shades of Grey. It was taken on by a mainstream publisher and is being adapted for a Hollywood movie. It is also being translated into English with a Spring 2016 publication date.photo credit: Relax café via photopin (license)

If you want to use any of this material contact me and there is a very good chance I will say YES.
However, if you just cut and paste into your own blog or whatever and pass it off as your own then there's a very good chance I will find out. Don't fall into the trap of thinking the internet is so vast and expanding so fast (note the fancy internal rhyme)] that no one will know.
Wow! I didn’t think there were still runaway successes to still be had with self -publishing. Haven’t heard about this one.
I’d love to know more about this novel too, but yes, I think self-publishing can still be a route to publishing sucesss (runaway is another matter!). I have friends who have turned down traditional publishing deals because they can earn more through self publishing. From their experience I think the way to go is: Number one write a really good book. Number two is understand the market and Number three promote it like hell.
