An international Poetry Competition for young people
The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is free to enter and open to poets aged 11-17 from across the world. Poems can be on any theme or length.
Run by the Poetry Society, this year’s judges Malika Booker and W. N. Herbert will select 100 winners to be named Foyle Young Poets of the Year. Prizes include a residential writing course at an Arvon centre, mentoring, publication in anthologies, a goody bag stuffed full of books and membership of The Poetry Society.
Former winners have gone on to brilliant careers, including Sarah Howe, who recently won the T. S. Eliot Prize.
