have come to my attention – hope it’s helpful.

GRADUATE CREATIVE WRITING, SOCIAL MEDIA & CUSTOMER SERVICES EXECUTIVE  – Paid Internship – London

Three month paid internship offering £16K pro rata followed by permanent position.

The company: Source products that are original in design, beautifully crafted and a little different from what you usually see. They tend to work with artisans, co-operatives from Africa to Asia, designers that have just come out of college and any kind of creative people that make beautiful things…

A typical day would be:

  1. Check messages on phone, email, social media and respond to daily queries / comments efficiently and politely.

  2. Help answer phones/process orders from customers throughout the day.

  3. General admin, dealing with couriers and suppliers.

  4. Liaise with their PR agencies and update social media daily i.e. facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest. Suggest content, come up with ideas and stories to keep content varied and interesting.

  5. Update blog weekly with supplier stories, products, travel, photoshoot news and info about new labels.

  6. Update the web site with new content/images.

  7. Write product captions.

  8. Liaise with their press department and organise press loans for magazines.

  9. Work closely with the Creative Director and MD, organising new samples/products for the next collection.

All of their internships are paid and all their interns are highly valued as team members. Their office/production team is fairly small and consists of 8 people. The office is open plan and the pace is very fast and dynamic. You will be expected to get involved in all aspects of the business with focus on creative writing and social media.  With the right attitude to learn and contribute, the experience gained will be extremely varied and useful for any career.

A full time position is available once the internship has been completed successfully.

A top New York City-based celebrity news service is seeking a rewrite specialist to turn reporter’s copy into colorful, engaging stories with true tabloid flair. We want a pro who writes with a voice that grabs readers by the shirt collar and pulls them along on a wild ride. Our mission is to inform and entertain our readers with language that sparks emotions. While we also cover politics, crime and real life feature stories,  our main focus is  celebrity news. Experience in this area is a big plus, but writing compelling copy is most essential. This position is full time position based in Manhattan. Please include relevant writing samples with your resume.

READER IN CREATIVE WRITING

Liverpool John Moores University

The Liverpool Screen School seeks to appoint a Reader in Creative Writing to implement and supervise the delivery of Creative Writing research strategies that align with the University’s overarching research strategy.

Creative Writing at the Liverpool Screen School is offered as a single and joint honours programme at undergraduate level and students are encouraged to develop their own creative skills as well the intellectual and analytical skills to improve their work through the study of poetry, prose and scriptwriting. The department also offers two Masters programmes in Writing and Screenwriting, with the latter accredited by Skillset.

The appointed person will have a proven record in the publication of creative and critical work of high quality, and will provide research leadership for the Creative Writing team and the wider school. The appointee will ideally have a strong profile as a writer of prose, and experience of working in a department with an emphasis on practice as research.
