People have many cruel expectations from writers. People expect novelists to live on a hill with three kids and a spouse, people expect children’s story writers to never have sex, and people expect all great poets to be dead. And these are all very difficult expectations to fulfill, I think.

However, if you just cut and paste into your own blog or whatever and pass it off as your own then there's a very good chance I will find out. Don't fall into the trap of thinking the internet is so vast and expanding so fast (note the fancy internal rhyme)] that no one will know.
and the letters about “I think x character should do y” and you th’nk “Why don’t you write your own novels if you want to change mine?”
I think it’s a bit of a compliment – if a back-handed one. It means the character has really grabbed the imagiation of that reader
that’s a good point. It is a compliment. hehe I dont’t mind if anyone writes fanfiction around my books… it’s a sign of having made it…
