Bridget Whelan offers great reasons for why a writer should join Twitter. It’s not just to promote your writing. Perhaps, more importantly, it’s to build community.
Twitter is indeed fantastic for getting the news before it breaks. The Arab Spring clearly demonstrated that. I have met many friendly and supportive people on Twitter and am hoping it will increase my blog readership.
I agree and you are so right to flag up the importance to people who live in a regime where freedom of expression is not respected.

I have been using twitter as regularly as possible for years but so far have had no luck with promoting my book on it. Do you have any tips with regards to that?
