for writers and readers….

7 things you didn’t know about FACEBOOK (probably) + 3 rules I’ve made up

  1. One in every 13 people on Earth is on Facebook

  2. Most Facebook users live in Asia

  3. But only about 35% of people who live in Asia use Facebook

  4. Australians spend more time per month on Facebook than any other country at over 7 hours on average

  5. Over 72% of the Australian/Oceania population use Facebook – beating Europe, but not North America where nearly 87% of the population are on Facebook

  6. It is the second biggest website by traffic behind Google

  7. My facebook page Back to Creative Writing School is updated every single day. Just saying. It’s about books and writing and odd things I find interesting.

THREE RULES FOR FACEBOOK

Treat Facebook as if it were a postcard left by the office water cooler/coffee maker/gin bottle

Never bad mouth or argue with a lover/partner/friend on Facebook even if you are about to break up, especially if you are about to break up

Don’t embarrass yourself or anyone else. Facebook photos never die. They are on the hard drive of a server in Oregon and it looks like they could be there forever.

Those aren’t the ones I find scary….for me it’s the blurring of the line between the private and the public hence my number one rule which I think everyone should follow…
