If you want to use any of this material contact me and there is a very good chance I will say YES.
However, if you just cut and paste into your own blog or whatever and pass it off as your own then there's a very good chance I will find out. Don't fall into the trap of thinking the internet is so vast and expanding so fast (note the fancy internal rhyme)] that no one will know.
Fab pic 🙂

Hi there, I just found your page after trying to find more about Bertha Leonard myself because I have a calendar page from the 80s (I think) that I had pulled out and framed. I always loved the quirkiness of the image — a woman who’s been reading in a clawfoot tub reaching over to pet her dog who stands beside the tub.
Regarding the picture you’re talking about, I believe the watermelon on the floor may be meant to be one of those little half circular rugs meant for in front of the kitchen sink or stove. Often rendered as a half an orange or a lemon– or a slice of watermelon.

Of course it’s a rug! I am ashamed that I once thought it could be sloppy housekeeping…Glad you came by. I would love to see more Bertha Leonard paintings
